  PETER THIEL

Peter took up photography at the age of 10 throwing around a twin lens reflex Rollei which was a gift from an elderly Russian friend of the family. Photography has continued to be a passion for Peter who specialises in portraiture, sports and landscapes.

Peter has also completed degrees in Arts with Honours and Law, but he follows his photography with a passion. Peter won the Best Photo Award at the 2000 Athletics Australia Media Awards for a shot of Matt Shervington and Pat Johnston at the start of the 100m in the Optus Athletics Grand Prix series. More recently he took out the City Of Sydney NYE Fireworks Photo Award in 2006.

Due to his diverse interests, Peter is at home behind the lens at sporting events, commercial shoots, family portrait sessions, parties and weddings.  His sporting background also lends itself to provision of written articles to accompany his photos if required.

Peter uses Nikon equipment for general shooting, a Mamiya RB67 for medium format shots, and he still has the Rollei for nostalgic purposes!
